Brazil’s São Paulo FC to Defend Super Group Title at the 2025 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola

DALLAS, Texas (Thursday, Sep. 26) – Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, is proud to announce the return of four-time Super Group champions São Paulo FC at the 2025 edition of the tournament. The Brazilian powerhouse will defend their Gordon Jago Super Group title at the 2025 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola, this coming April.

One of the most successful Super Group participants in Dallas Cup history, São Paulo FC had yet another impressive tournament campaign in 2024. They kicked off their championship run with victories in the group stage against Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt, Mexico’s CF Monterrey, and MLS academy side Toronto FC. In the semi-finals, São Paulo delivered a dominant 4-0 win over England’s Fulham FC, earning their spot in the final against FC Dallas. The Brazilian side completed their undefeated run with a thrilling 3-2 victory over the local side before hoisting the coveted “Boot & Ball” championship trophy for the fourth time. Adding to their previous Super Group wins in 1995, 2007, and 2009, Sao Paulo's 2024 victory increased Brazil's record number of Super Group titles to 13.

São Paulo FC is widely recognized for its successful academy, which has produced world-class players such as Cafu, Kaká, and Oscar. Notably, former São Paulo academy products Edmílson and Lucas Moura contributed to the club’s Super Group titles in 1995 and 2009, respectively.

São Paulo FC is the first confirmed team for the 2025 Gordon Jago Super Group. A total of 12 elite teams from top professional clubs and national federations worldwide will compete for the iconic “Boot & Ball” trophy next April.

The 2025 Dallas Cup will be played from April 13 through April 20. As it prepares for the 46th edition of the tournament in 2025, the Dallas Cup continues to build on the remarkable legacy established since its inception in 1980. With the recent acquisition of the Dallas International Girls Cup, the tournament is poised to significantly expand in scope and size, as both the boys and girls brackets will now feature U10 through U19 age divisions.

The team application window is now open, and fans and teams alike can learn more about the tournament by visiting www.DallasCup.org or by following through social media @dallascup.
