Crystal Palace withdraws from Gordon Jago Super Group due to ongoing FA Youth Cup campaign

DALLAS, Texas (Thursday, Mar. 12) – Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, has announced that Fulham FC will return to compete in the elite U19 Gordon Jago Super Group at the 2026 tournament.

Fulham returns to the Dallas Cup Super Group for the sixth time in 2026, continuing a tournament history that began with their memorable debut in 2013. That year, the English side went unbeaten before defeating Japan’s Kashiwa Reysol in the Super Group final to lift the iconic Boot & Ball trophy. Fulham has returned to the Super Group on several occasions since, highlighted by a run to the 2016 final where they finished runner-up to fellow Premier League club Everton FC.

More recently, Fulham appeared in the 2023 and 2024 editions of the Dallas Cup. In 2024, the English side advanced to the Super Group semifinals before falling to eventual champions São Paulo FC.

Fulham, the oldest professional football club in London, has long maintained ties to the United States Men’s National Team, featuring several American players over the years. Current first-team defender Antonee Robinson—expected to represent the U.S. at the FIFA World Cup 26™—previously competed in the Dallas Cup in 2015. The club has also been home to two of the most accomplished American players in Premier League history and Dallas Cup alumni, Clint Dempsey (Dallas Cup 2001) and Brian McBride (Dallas Cup 1990), both of whom were twice named Fulham’s Player of the Season during their time at Craven Cottage.

Dallas Cup has also confirmed that Crystal Palace, which had previously been announced as part of the 2026 Super Group field, will withdraw from this year’s tournament as the club continues its run in this season’s FA Youth Cup. Dallas Cup congratulates Crystal Palace on its success in the prestigious competition and wishes the club the best in its upcoming quarterfinal match.

The 2026 Gordon Jago Super Group will feature 12 elite teams from leading professional academies and national federations worldwide competing for the iconic Boot & Ball trophy. The field includes defending champions Botafogo of Brazil, four-time Super Group champion São Paulo FC, the Liberia National Team, Mexico’s CF Monterrey, Philadelphia Union, fellow Premier League side Aston Villa FC, and host club FC Dallas, among others.

The 2026 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola will be played March 29 through April 5 in the Greater Dallas area. Tickets are now on sale for the marquee Opening Day event at Cotton Bowl Stadium, which will feature a triple-header of matches and the Whataparade of Teams presented by Whataburger and Opening Ceremonies, set to include more than 10,000 Dallas Cup participants.
