Former Super Group Champion Fulham FC Returns to Compete at the 2024 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola

Liverpool FC withdraws from the 2024 edition of the tournament due to recent first-team call-ups

DALLAS, Texas (Tuesday, Feb. 27) – Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, proudly announces the participation of historic English side and former Super Group champion, Fulham FC, in the Gordon Jago Super Group at the 2024 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola. As London's oldest professional football club, Fulham returns for the second consecutive year with their sights set on securing another "Boot & Ball" Super Group trophy. Fulham's participation in the 2024 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola marks their fifth appearance in the Super Group. Their journey began in 2013 with a dazzling debut, where they emerged unbeaten, clinching victory over Japan's Kashiwa Reysol in the Super Group final. Another highlight came in 2016 when Fulham reached the Gordon Jago Super Group final, showcasing their prowess despite falling short against Premier League counterpart, Everton FC.

Fulham has a history of nurturing close connections with the United States Men's National Team. Two of Fulham's first-team players, Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson, represented the U.S. at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Notably, Robinson had previously played in the Dallas Cup in 2015. Fulham also boast some of the most accomplished former U.S. players and Dallas Cup alumni, including Clint Dempsey (DC '01) and Brian McBride (DC '90), who were both honored with the Player of the Season award for Fulham FC award twice. Unfortunately, Dallas Cup has also announced that Liverpool FC, initially confirmed for the Super Group, is withdrawing from the 2024 tournament edition due to a string of first-team injuries prompting call-ups from their academy ranks. The 2024 Gordon Jago Super Group is currently comprised of Fulham FC, defending champions FC Midtjylland out of Denmark, the Brazilian duo of São Paulo FC and Botafogo, Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt, and Costa Rica’s L.D. Alajuelense. With more clubs being announced this week, the Gordon Jago Super Group will once again be comprised of 12 elite teams hailing from top pro clubs and national federations around the world vying for the iconic Super Group “Boot & Ball” trophy. The 2024 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola (Boys U12-U19) will be played March 24 through March 31 as the tournament celebrates an important milestone with its 45th anniversary. The boys’ tournament will once again be played concurrently with the Dallas Cup Girls Invitational (Girls U15-U19) which runs March 23 through March 29.

Stay tuned for ticketing and scheduling information regarding the marquee opening day matchups at Cotton Bowl Stadium. For further details about the tournament, fans and teams can visit www.DallasCup.org or follow us on social media @dallascup.
