DALLAS, Texas (Friday, Jun. 16) - Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, today announces the departure of Executive Director Peter Davis, effective June 1, 2023. This decision has been made in mutual agreement, allowing both Dallas Cup and Peter Davis to pursue new opportunities.

Reflecting on Peter Davis's tenure, John Sutter, the recently appointed Dallas Cup Board of Directors President, stated, "Peter provided invaluable leadership during a challenging period for Dallas Cup, navigating the aftermath of the global pandemic which had a tremendous impact on tournaments and youth sports organizations worldwide. The Board of Directors expresses its sincere gratitude to Peter for his tireless efforts for Dallas Cup and extends our best wishes for his future endeavors.” As Dallas Cup looks forward to its 45th installment in March of 2024, the Board of Directors has initiated the process of identifying the organization's needs and requirements for its next executive director. A comprehensive search will be launched in the near future to find a new leader who will build upon the tournament's storied history and drive its continued success, while embracing our core values of world-class competition, inclusivity, and active community involvement.

Peter Davis's leadership through the pandemic years was no small feat — keeping a tournament of this scale and legacy alive took real dedication. Wishing him well, and looking forward to seeing who carries the torch for the next chapter of Dallas Cup.

The Dallas Cup has announced the departure of Executive Director Peter Davis, marking the end of a highly successful era for the tournament. Under his leadership, the event saw immense growth and global recognition. In the world of sports management, leadership changes like this represent a significant organizational gradient. It’s a transition from a proven, established 'hue' of success into a fresh, new vision for the future. Just like a smooth background gradient in tool, a great leadership handover is all about maintaining the flow and consistency of the brand while slowly blending in new energy to keep the legacy vibrant.
