Early Commitments by Australian, English, and Canadian Teams Signal Growing Global Participation
Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, is excited to announce the participation of the first international girls' teams in the 2024 Dallas Cup Girls' Invitational. The tournament, featuring elite girls' teams in the Under 15 through Under 19 age divisions, is pleased to welcome back the Australian School Girls, last year's finalist in the Under 19 division. Also returning to Dallas are England's Everton Football College and This Girl Kicks. Joining them are newcomers Elite XI and Thompson Okanagan Football Club (TOFC) from Canada, making their tournament debut next spring.
In 2023, the Australian School Girls, Everton Football College, and This Girl Kicks took part in the Dallas Cup Homestay Program, where the teams made friends for life. The HomeStay Program, which places participating international teams with local families from other tournament teams, encapsulates Dallas Cup's core values of Community Engagement and Diversity & Inclusion.
Since its inception in 2021, the Dallas Cup Girls' Invitational has steadily attracted global participation. In 2023, the tournament proudly hosted seven international girls' teams from five countries, marking a sizeable increase from a year prior. Anticipating the presence of more international teams in 2024, early commitments from Australian, English, and Canadian teams underscore Dallas Cup's commitment to strengthening the Girls' Invitational, mirroring the success of its celebrated boys' counterpart, as it approaches its 45th anniversary in 2024.
The 2024 Dallas Cup Girls' Invitational is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, March 23, culminating on Friday, March 29. The boys' 2024 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola will kick off a day later, with the final matches slated for Easter Sunday, March 31. The application window for the 2024 Dallas Cup and Dallas Cup Girls Invitational is open. The deadline to apply is November 30.
