Former Dallas Cup Tournament Manager Randy Jones Passes Away

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that a member of the Dallas Cup family, former Tournament Manager Randy Jones, passed away early Saturday morning. Randy served as tournament manager from 1990 until 2012, remaining as a special consultant through the 2013 edition of the tournament.

For over two decades, Randy was instrumental in helping the tournament ascend to new heights. With his love for the game and keen ability to foster relationships with elite clubs from across the globe, he helped push the envelope for what Dallas Cup could mean to the youth soccer community worldwide. Year in and year out, Randy invited only the best clubs to the tournament, bringing a competitive atmosphere to Dallas Cup that has stood the test of time. During his tenure, the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, AC Milan, Barcelona, São Paulo, and Boca Juniors competed in Dallas Cup, among hundreds of other top academies.

Randy Jones was admired and respected by tournament staff and volunteers, competing teams, and soccer peers across the country. The legacy he leaves behind for the North Texas Soccer community will never be forgotten.
